Measure first
What we assess
Bring the treating professional’s instructions, relevant reports and the shoes involved. We assess the mechanical requirement, how the patient currently stands or walks, and what can be safely built or modified.
After surgery or major injury
After surgery or a major accident, an ordinary shoe or off-the-shelf insert may not solve the practical problem. We translate the treating professional’s instructions into a patient-specific orthotic or footwear modification within our scope.

Complex practical problems need measured, buildable solutions.
When an assessment may help

Measure first
Bring the treating professional’s instructions, relevant reports and the shoes involved. We assess the mechanical requirement, how the patient currently stands or walks, and what can be safely built or modified.
Explain clearly
Possible solutions include heel elevation, shoe-height adjustment, rocker-sole modification, bespoke insoles or another patient-specific orthosis. We document the intervention and communicate with the referring professional where appropriate.
Common questions
For post-surgery work, bring the treating professional’s instructions and relevant reports. They help define the clinical objective and keep the modification within the wider care plan.
Where it is appropriate and technically possible, we can plan patient-specific heel elevation or shoe-height modification based on the measured requirement and clinical instructions.
Not every shoe can accommodate every modification. Bring the intended footwear so we can assess its construction, stability, fit and available space.
Not sure whether this fits?
You do not need to diagnose the problem yourself. Start with the RM300 five-stage movement assessment, or send us a short description before booking.
