No. The purpose of assessment is to understand the movement problem first. Depending on what we find, the next step may involve bespoke insoles, bracing, footwear modification, simple exercises, shoe guidance, a combination—or no product at all.

A referral is not required for most assessment bookings. For post-surgery needs, scoliosis, significant medical conditions or an existing treatment plan, a referral and relevant clinical information can help us work within the wider care pathway.

Bring the shoes you wear most often, especially the pair used when the problem appears. If available, also bring relevant imaging, medical reports, referral letters and any previous orthotics.

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to walk and move freely. We may need to observe your posture and movement as part of the assessment.

The time needed can vary with the person and the complexity of the concern. We will confirm the appointment details with you when your booking is arranged.

Yes. Flat feet are one of the main reasons families bring children to Wonderwalk. We consider the child’s feet, alignment, movement, footwear and everyday activity rather than looking at foot shape alone. A parent or guardian should attend.

Where appropriate, we can assess the biomechanical or footwear component and consider patient-specific solutions such as heel elevation, shoe-height adjustment or another orthotic modification. Bring the surgeon’s or treating professional’s instructions and relevant reports.

Yes, where a patient-specific brace is appropriate. Scoliosis bracing sits within a wider medical care pathway, so we work alongside the patient’s treating professionals and use the relevant clinical information to guide fitting and review.

Yes. Wonderwalk can handle the biomechanical and orthotic component, document relevant findings and interventions, and communicate with the referring professional where appropriate.
