When is an assessment useful?
Tell us if your child avoids walking or play because of pain, regularly complains of tired feet or legs, trips more than usual, or cannot wear school or sport shoes comfortably. Also tell us if one foot is changing, stiff or noticeably different from the other.
Comfortable, flexible flat feet in an active child may need observation and shoe advice rather than an insole. Pain, stiffness, a rapid change or an injury needs closer clinical attention. Our children's flat feet guide explains the difference.
First, understand
We assess the child, not only the arch
Wonderwalk looks at foot pressure, walking, posture, foot mobility and a foot blueprint or measurements. We also ask about pain, activity and the shoes your child uses. A footprint or scan alone cannot tell us why a child is uncomfortable.
Then, decide
An insole needs a purpose
If a bespoke insole is appropriate, we explain what it is intended to change and which shoes it needs to fit. Another child may need better-fitting footwear, exercise, medical or physiotherapy input, or no product at all.
Bring the shoes, and tell us what happens in them
Bring school shoes, sport shoes and the pair your child wears most often. If there are old insoles, bring those too. Tell us when discomfort starts, whether your child stops an activity, and which shoes feel better or worse. These details help us understand what will work in daily life.
Children grow, and shoe fit can change. If an insole begins to rub, feels too small or causes new discomfort, contact the team for advice about review or adjustment. Do not ask a child to push through pain just to “get used to” a device.
How the children's package is planned
Wonderwalk's children's bespoke insole package includes two pairs when recommended. We discuss which shoes each pair needs to fit and explain the individual quotation before anything is made. The RM300 assessment is credited toward the recommended solution if you proceed within one month.
The goal is to meet your child's actual needs, not to sell a pair because an arch looks low. See how Wonderwalk plans bespoke insoles.
Questions parents ask
Will insoles permanently correct flat feet?
We do not promise that. The question is whether support has a useful role for your child's comfort, pressure or movement. A child with painless, flexible feet may not need it.
What if my child has a bunion or a stiff foot?
Bring photos or reports that show changes over time. A painful, stiff or rapidly changing foot may need medical assessment as well as any footwear discussion. Our juvenile bunion guide covers one common concern.
