Adult Flat Feet: When Should You Get Assessed?

Flat feet in adults are common, and not every low arch needs treatment. The more useful question is whether your feet are causing symptoms, changing how you move, or affecting the joints above them.

Signs that an assessment may be useful

Consider an assessment if you notice recurring foot fatigue, ankle discomfort, knee pain, uneven shoe wear, difficulty with longer walks, or one foot behaving very differently from the other.

Why symptoms can appear later in life

Foot shape is only part of the picture. Changes in activity level, footwear, body weight, injury history and joint mobility can alter how load moves through the feet and legs over time.

Does every adult with flat feet need insoles?

No. An assessment should come before the product. Sometimes footwear changes, simple exercises or another form of care may make more sense. Bespoke insoles are one option when the findings support them.

Wonderwalk assesses pressure, gait, posture, foot mobility and footwear before recommending what comes next.
